If you are using it as a replacement doorbell button, there may be no need for drilling.

This doorbell button is designed to work with almost any doorbell transformer or wired chimes, providing a simple and cost-effective solution. However, please note that the doorbell wire is not included in the package. Additionally, if you are using a digital chime (which plays a melody and has a speaker for the sound), a diode is needed (not included). On the other hand, if you are using a mechanical doorbell chime (which produces a 2-note sound similar to a small mallet hitting a metal bar), a diode is not needed.
